Lajas, Puerto Rico
Cay Mata La Gata is part of Natural Reserve of La Parguera in the city of Lajas Puerto Rico. This small island is one the most popular locations during summer time for most of Puerto Ricos locals. The only way to get to Mata La Gata is by water, just drive to La Parguera and there you would find multiple facilities that act like water taxis. You can also rent a kayak but I leave that to your choice. With just a 15 minutes boat drive you are going to be on this little paradise.

On the Island Mata La Gata the first thing to notice is a big deck where the boats dock to take passengers in and out. This little pier also act has natural pool, under the wood floors it have a net, protecting the area from big fish, jellyfish, etc... On the corner of this pier there is a life guard on duty and at the end of the harbor just continue inside of the island. The deck road take you in the mangroves trees with informational signs to learn more of this natural habitat.

The Cay Mata La Gata have some facilities but do not expect kiosks or business facilities, this is a natural reserve so anything here is just for recreation and enjoyment. That leave us to tell you to bring anything that you may need to eat, drink or need.
